Tour AJ01 - Highlights of Japan

Highlights: Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Hakone, Kyoto & Nara
Duration: 6 days - 5 nights

Day 1 (Monday or Wednesday): Tokyo Arrival

Upon arrival, meet by English-speaking assistant who will assist you to board a taxi to your hotel. Check-in for your stay and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Accommodation: Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa or similar.

Day 2: Tokyo (B)

After breakfast, pick up for a morning city tour in Tokyo visiting Imperial Palace Nijubashi Bridge, Tsukiji, Senso-ji Temple, and Nakamise Shopping Street. Your tour will end after sightseeing in Asakusa, where you will have the rest of the day at leisure. Your tour guide will give you details on how to make your own way back to your hotel.

Day 3: Tokyo – Mt. Fuji – Hakone – Kyoto (B/L)

Depart from Tokyo in the morning and travel by coach to Mt. Fuji. It includes a trip up to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station at an elevation of 2,300 meters, a cruise on pristine Lake Ashi, and a ride on the Komagatake Ropeway which boasts great views of the surrounding Hakone National Park. You will then take a cruise on Lake Ashi before you transfer to Odawara Station for the bullet train to Kyoto. Upon arrival in Kyoto, meet by English-speaking assistant who will assist you in boarding a taxi to your hotel. Check-in for your stay, and rest of the evening at leisure.

Accommodation: Kyoto Tokyu Hotel or similar

Day 4: Kyoto – Nara (B/L)

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel to join a full-day city tour of Kyoto. Visit Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple, or the Golden Pavilion, on to Kyoto Imperial Palace. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then travel by local train to Nara. Once there you will take a walking tour to visit sights including Todaiji Temple, home of the Great Buddha, Nara Deer Park, and Kofukuji Temple. Travel back to Kyoto and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 5: Kyoto (B)

Enjoy a full day at leisure.

Day 6: Kyoto – Osaka - Departure (B)

Today bid farewell to Japan. Transfer from your hotel to Osaka Kansai Airport for your return flight to Canada.

16 to 30 days before the tour starts, 75% of the payment is non-refundable;
31 to 45 days before the tour starts, 50% of the payment is non-refundable;
40 to 90 days before the tour starts, a $150 service fee will be applied.
